Pärnu Waldorfkool
Pärnu Waldorfkool is a private school implementing the Waldorf-Steiner curriculum. In 2020/2021, the school has 8 classes (grades 1-8) and is growing by one class each year until it is developed into a complete basic school offering basic education (grades 1-9). The school is part of the local and international Waldorf school network and is cooperating closely with the local municipality and supporting organisations.
Pärnu Waldorfkool (Pärnu Waldorf School) is a growing initiative:
2013 - The school started work with one teacher and one class of 15 students.
2020 - Grades 1-8, 140 students and 17 teachers
2021 - a fully developed basic school with 9 grades
The school supports inclusive education - it enrols and supports students with different special educational needs. The Waldorf curriculum is regarded as supportive of the development of independent, tolerant and self-sufficient individuals, but is also considered to have a somewhat therapeutic effect due to its focus on creative and practical subjects (different forms of movement, woodworks, crafts, playing musical instruments and singing every morning, clay modelling, poetry, drama, etc.).
The schools and kindergartens of the Waldorf initiative work under the umbrella of national and international organisations:
